Mark Smolley Response to Question #2:
2. Please list in order of importance the current issues you would prioritize as a member of the Board.
1. Rebuilding the Cross-Country Pipeline - During the CZU fire, approximately seven miles of high-density polyethylene pipe was destroyed. This piping accesses three surface water sources; Peavine, Sweetwater, and Clear Creeks. The District is currently completing an engineering study to evaluate options for replacing this pipe.
2. Completing the Environmental Permitting process for the Conjunctive Use Plan, which will allow the District to transfer surface water throughout the entire District, which makes the system more resilient and reduces use of groundwater wells.
3. Beginning the long-term planning to enable the District to access our allotment of water from the Loch Lomond Reservoir.
